El Morro

The entrance to the Bay at San Juan, Puerto Rico is guarded by a Fort, known as El Morro, built by the Spanish in the 15 hundreds. it is an awesome sight from the sea and its gun emplacements continue for several hundred yards into the bay.

Adjacent to the dock you could see a construction project which appeared to be timeshares.
Our friend Anne, with her usual wonderful smile.
The staff prepares for a nighttime barbecue.
Donna in the lobby waiting to go shopping.
Here is Mark Conroy, the president and CEO of Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, with his wife at the reception desk. We joked that it would be amusing if no one could give him any help for perhaps 20 minutes.
The ship has a computer based system that keeps track of who is on or off the ship. The system is very helpful when we are about to leave a port in order to notify the captain, in advance, of anyone we are leaving behind. When you either board or exit the ship, you must pass your room key card through a reader which, then displays a picture of you on the computer screen for verification.
San Juan,Puerto Rico is a very clean place to visit but the old city is now set up exclusively for tourism. Most shops sell the same or similar items and we were just too tired to venture outside the capital. The old city is much cleaner now than in the mid-eighties when I was here before.
