44 Durban, South Africa |
||
Our welcome included
a small curio city and dancers accompanied by drums which could be heard
10 miles away. Unfortunately we were about 100 feet away and sleeping
soundly when the show began celebrating our early morning arrival. |
||
It was quiet in the
central city because it was Sunday. |
We were however able to find the
flea market. |
|
Then off to the mall which was in
a converted railway terminal. |
Loren opts for the local
barber shop. |
|
Donna enjoying
the mall. I enjoyed it too because it was quite safe. Almost all the shops
were closed. |
The commercial and institutional
structures were modern and well maintained. |
|
Rugby is the sport
here, |
Apartment housing out
of the city was typical of anywhere in the US. |
|
Here is Donna telling the cab driver
what she wants for lunch and how it is to be prepared...NO OIL. |
The suburban apartment complexes
were lovely. |
So were the commercial buildings. |
THE GATEWAY MALL |
||
The mall was as nice
as any we had been to anywhere on the cruise. |
||
Loren taking a break from Donna's
speech to the waiter about how her order is to be prepared. As cool as
he is, he couldn't take it any more!!! |
The intrepid shoppers on a lunch
break. |
The mall included mini-bungy jumping/trampolines
for kids, rock climbing, roller blading and standing wave surfing.
